They are made in two widths, narrow and standard, and in a variety of metals (those listed here are galvanized steel) for most applications. Special "Snubber" Tools must be used to make the proper attachment. The wire used ranges from 16 to 7 gauge, depending on size and use. Fittings with longer shanks may use two or more clamps. Clamps may be removed with a standard wire cutter. The sizes shown in the table abowe are clamp inside diameters. The correct clamp should be larger than the hose outside diameter. Hose up to, and including 3/4" size, will require clamps 1/8" larger than the hose outside diameter. Hose 1" and larger will require clamps 1/4" larger than the hose outside diameter. 1" between Standard Width coils, 1/2" between Narrow Width coils.
